WSC is providing an upgrade to the Plant Crist simulator by making several enhancements to increase overall simulator fidelity. WSC is providing a new simulator host platform, upgrading the simulator to the latest 3KEYMASTER Hydraulic and Fuel Tools, updating process models to account for several years of plant changes and modifications and is providing an interface between the process models and their Emerson Ovation Virtual DCS. Based on positive experience on other projects, Southern expects to gain benefit of the simulator as an SAE (Simulation Assisted Engineering) tool. This is the primary driver necessitating the replacement of the old (10+ years) modeling tools and technology on the simulator with the latest high-fidelity, SAE-grade modeling tools for the boiler and hydraulic systems.
